A birthday Moto Chiang Mai, Thailand for Beginners

We have a fair breakfast next door, followed by a good cup of coffee on the road. I wish you a happy birthday.

We drive across the street from our hotel, rent a bike for a day. Can you believe that there is only $ 6 USD for 24 hours. I wonder if the insurance is included. We get a quick refresher, Victor takes off around the block, and I am. I think I might have on a motorcycle and used once before a Victor, but says, if ever ridden. We have tried a fewBlocks from the old cars and on the busy street. We are not directly affected by any vehicles and this builds our confidence and we cross the busy street to the other. We are one block from the station, but they have to cross the four lanes. For some reason I'm calm. Later I heard that Victor does not.

Leave from our current path and the map, I have the faintest idea where we stand and where we are going and when directed by Victorwhere they turn over the river, so that we can go south along the picturesque coast. But sometimes gives me a way to turn, only to our lives of some threat to rescue and eventually I found myself confused about which direction we were actually heading. Feigning confidence because I know I need it and take over old Victor I will continue my best to guess the directions and only occasionally to remind him that he is on the wrong side of the street to give. (How is England, the GuideOpposite of what we are accustomed).

I am glad to find myself in the river and cross it and the south. Victor seems to think that on a bike and clings closely to the edge of the gutter. Yes, if all pits and bumps are. I try to encourage him to boldly take the track. It is actually worse than on the side and swim have the traffic that comes to us at the track and only with the flow. My conclusion is, bruising.

Those who have to drive this road every daycertain expectations about what other drivers to speed generally granted the right of way. They know that in the streets, hidden until you go easy. Victor is the right response from the walk and drive with caution and courtesy and not the other pilots, as he expected, which ... that is to go for it. Do not prejudge not know why its slowing down. In retrospect, this is very funny, but he felt while we were dangerous on the road.

We hardly see muchthe river and it seems to lose soon. At some point we are used to rice fields. This is very nice there is no traffic at all. It is to stop speaking for a drink, how the bike is very dry. I tell him he can stop whenever he wants, and I'm ready. Let's go on and on and on. I remember that he thought was to stop and stop soon at a gas station. This is a very American response, all of our stations have a small supermarket. Here, this is notSun They also have a refrigerator and a Coca Cola and water. Now, from the city we are English and Ville when I ask the price, which the Lord on 6 and 10 fingers and toes instead. I interpret that means 60 baht, about $ 1.75. Very unreasonable. But I took my three scores for 20 baht and his hand. He takes one and gives me four. I think he meant 6 for water and 10 coke, 16 Baht, about 45 cents and overall very reasonable.

Getting off the biketerrible, because we go back down and we feel pretty broken! We head back out and about a quarter of a mile on the road a sign in English for Coffee Garden. We apologize for a cup of coffee or stopping to see a coffee plantation. We are not sure that we are going, but it turns out that we have a wonderful cup of coffee and returned to English Ville. The owner sits down with us and our papers and shows us where we are. We are not in a bad situation, in fact almost in the direction that I'm the onlyabout 10 miles longer than expected.

We have a small living room and then head back. The city we called Baan Tawa and is a major export center with many Neat looking furniture, pottery, carved animals and any number of unique products for shipment. There are restaurants that we to see and a long lunch.

We propose the Diagonal Street, which we returned to the airport and right in the center. Traffic is increasing, but now we are old hands in this andJust surf right ... and difficult, an hour spent driving in the city, we are looking for our old hotel. We can not find their way into the small lane and fast, so that on this one twisted not know on which side of the city, although we are clearly on the same path several times. We have almost ceased to ask.

Since we have the scooter for 24 hours under the contract, we do not really want to not give up yet. Says Park, and we go for lunch, followed by a massage great birthday. Return toRoller we decide to head up the mountain a little "out of town in the opposite direction and see if we can find, but some of the waterfalls. Come When we on the busy streets and rush hour is bad. Victor brings us back home. I think this is a great idea, as my ass is complaining loudly, every little bump. I think we had about 50 miles. Let's go back to the wheel.

We opt for two steps and repeat our steps from yesterday, when we search for the exchange of money. We have alsoInputs are, our neighborhood from the main roads, so that we can easily find our way home, although we never need this knowledge again.

We go to the Queen Vic, a lot more than you remember. We have a beer and check our e-mail as a computer for guests, as we do in the Charlotte Hotel Groveland, CA. While Victor is the signature on the computer, my eyes wander over the counter newspaper, where the owner has a display brochures and I could not believe mySee ... A brochure Hotel Charlotte. I am surprised and happy and focus the camera. Victor I am here with my pictures brochures and adding a lot 'more! I always travel with a handful in my pocket, you never know where you find your next guest!

We decide to eat tamarind and sit by the pool. They have live music and a nice romantic atmosphere. Once lit the citronella candles and gave us a spray organic mosquito was perfect. I ordered a Duck with Lychee, one of the best dishes that I had before, was curry.

Back to the hotel and not lose their grip on our way street. We end our evening with another stop at the karaoke place, which is very pleasant and we enjoy a beer and camaraderie additional minutes with Colin, who has been here 9 months. He has a large amount of Thai costumes and shares some great stories and observations gathered with us. We're pretty addicted to Chiang> Never!

What a great birthday and we have many good memories! Most of our Asian adventures can be found be found online at www.RecipeResearch.blogspot.com.
