Reason 1: Weather
Depressed by long, dark winter in your country? Stuck indoors by rain, endless days gray? Thailand blue skies and warm days provide a much needed tonic for those suffering from sun-seeking SAD.
It is definitely warm and sunny weather in Thailand. Bangkok, a bit of "surprisingly, the highest mean temperature of the whole capital of the world. In April, the temperature in Bangkok to reach over 40 ° C, but at other timesYear can be up to 10C.
hot, rainy and cold: Thailand can be thought of as the three seasons. The hot season is from March to May. The rainy season lasts from June to October and the cool season from November to February.
A very pleasant visit to Bangkok in November to December. The temperature on comfort in the mid 20s. The hottest time of the year in Thailand is usually in April, at the time of the festival Songkhran water. But theClimate tends to vary height - Chiang Mai and other northern cities, the temperatures are more pleasant experience because of their higher earnings.
In general, for sun-hungry Westerners sunny climate in Thailand is a major attraction. It can be beautiful, warm, clear sea in a time of year when snorkeling, in a place like the UK, people are Fogbound and chills.
Reason 2: Food
Thai food is world famous and rightly so. There are enoughdifferent foods in Thailand and is generally of high quality and delicious. If you tasted food in Thailand you will most likely fall. The Thai food in the restaurants again, the West will not only be the same after he tasted the real thing.
Besides offered a wide selection of dishes, there are a large number of rooms of different types. In Bangkok's international style dining in most hotels, and there are chains of styleRestaurants for every taste food. Thai, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Western, Italian are just some of the menus.
Even smaller cities have a large selection of small restaurants restaurants.Hotel road, which are great places to dine everywhere, offering cheap food, fresh and palatable. The Thais take their food very seriously, so if you are Thai people like to eat in a restaurant is to see a good bet. The menus vary, but also pasta, soups, rice, chicken and seafoodCourts. Enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy the wonderful smell of cooking is something you will not forget in a hurry.
In Bangkok there are also facilities to eat cheap in places like TOPS supermarkets in Central Plaza. You can be your meal selection from the seats planned e. Not an intimate dinner, but you notice that everyone is sitting in your area (it is often the only Westerner to be) looks incredibly happy!
Eating in Thailand is a great pleasure.Try different dishes, experiment, but watch out for the really spicy dishes!
Reason 3: Islands and Beaches
Thailand has many famous islands with beautiful beaches. There are entire books dedicated to Thailand's most beautiful islands and beaches. Much has been written and said about this aspect of Thailand.
Things after the tsunami (2004) were a bit "cautious. However, there is no doubt that Thailand has one of the best beaches in Southeast Asia, if not theWorld.
Diving is also made very well and good, mostly through PADI Center. Snorkeling trips are widespread and usually funds arranged by the hotel or a local. Obviously you can only get, mask and fins and start swimming. Organized tours are often worth it as you able to remotely access and coral reefs of the islands, where a greater variety of marine life.
Many other Water activities are also available - kayaking, jet skiing and of courseBanana Boat! Thailand is a huge draw, if you are a lover of water sports.
There is also a pretty nice beach - even if you could do just that for the islands for the weekend. There is something extremely satisfying to sit in a small restaurant on the beach-side cooler in the evening, drink ice-cold Singha beer and chat with friends. Some of my favorite beaches are Kata Beach (Phuket), Ao Prao Resort (Samet), Klong Dao Beach (Lanta).
KataBeach is very typical of the best beaches in Thailand. The sand is soft and white, the sea, blue and clear. The beach is a crescent-shaped Pu small island not far offshore. Pu Kata saved from the destruction of essential Boxing Day Tsunami (2004) - the wave split in two directions, decreasing strength and limit the damage, the Kata Beach Resort.
The beaches and islands of Thailand are world class. Whether your inclination in the direction of the active water sports, orsimply beach-combing and sunbathing Thailand has much to offer.
Reason 4: People
There is a lot of the Thai people can speak for their happy, positive attitude and her kindness. Overall, the majority of the Thai people very tolerant and friendly to foreigners. Thais are generally very relaxed and loose, less offended, they can be violent, stubborn, and in extreme cases, verbal or physical. It is best to avoidcompared to Thailand, just keep smiling, be calm and all is well! There is nothing more embarrassing that the sight of a Westerner who "loses" while the Thais remain quiet.
Much has been written on the topic of Thai women and their charms. For most Western men in motion (or visit) in Thailand, by Thai ladies is accompanied by a major incentive. Thai women tend to be charming, beautiful, delicate and feminine.
Problems can arise withThai women, mostly this is because the Western man did not take long to understand the Thai culture and Thai ways of thinking. This does lead to unfortunate situations. In most cases, these can be avoided. Better informed and certainly helps, there is no shortage of advice available.
To maintain good relations with the Thais, it is important to understand their beliefs, desires and lifestyle. The Thais are Western embarrassing, but the opposite is alsotrue. Thais know you can teach a lot about you.
In general, the Thai people you meet very helpful and pleasant.
Reason 5: Cost of Living
Compared with the West, Thailand has a very low cost of living. For example, to a fantastic apartment with pool, 24 hour security, broadband internet and all the amenities you rent in a nice area of approximately € 300 people per month. However, all households in Bangkok have been reached. You can paymuch more or much less.
A useful tip is, if possible, a Thai touch to see apartments for you before you arrive. You can negotiate more effectively. There are too many bargains and no shortage of accommodation in Bangkok. It is a two-tier system of prices in Thailand - where a foreigner is automatically the price goes up! Always worth a try, although negotiate.
As already mentioned, food is also very cheap and generallya wide range of products are much cheaper in Thailand than in Western countries. The United Kingdom will, in particular, seems to be the rip-off capital of Europe. I usually buy my running shoes and sports clothing during a visit to Thailand or Malaysia as prices are often as little as 30% of what I paid for the same thing in England. other garments such as T-shirts, jeans, sandals, shoes, wet clothes and so on can all be for a fraction of what you would had to pay in Thailand. Beware of fakes, however, whichoften in places like Bangkok.
For Americans, the decline of the dollar meant that Thailand is not exactly a paradise of cheap and cheerful again, and the flight will be very expensive in the United States. However, the pound and the euro, while they are a bit down "against the increasingly strong baht, not hot enough, too bad. The flights are still very reasonable, especially if you can avoid the school holidays.
The glory days of 70 + Baht Pound are moreand Thailand's economy is growing slowly. At the time of writing is probably at about 60 baht or so to get for your money. But even at these prices in Thailand is still relatively cheap, and some companies may still be obtained by many, especially outside of Bangkok.
Reason 6: Night Life
Unfortunately, Thailand has developed an enviable reputation internationally for its infamous "bad night life scene.
The most famous red-light zones catering for Westernersinclude Patpong, Soi Cowboy and Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP) in Bangkok. There are also bad centers of nightlife in Pattaya and Phuket, Patong Beach, Phuket Town. It is known that there is a much bigger sex industry to the needs of the Thai people.
The bad nightlife industry in Thailand has seen something of a recession in recent years. increasing pressure from the government led to "no show" the implementation of early closureRaids, drug testing and on-the-spot for workers and customers. Price increases and exchange rate fluctuations, also did not help. That's all for good, in my opinion, because, frankly, Thailand is more than enough to offer, without prejudice to the industry. We hope that this share will drop from Thailand dirty, people become more aware of the real Thailand.
The good news is that Thailand, Bangkok, and above all, a diverse and vital "not bad" have night life. There are great nightclubs, jazz clubs, cinemas, bowling, restaurants, pubs, bars, hotels, bars, sports and shopping centers.
One of the best things is nothing ever seems to be near the "City of Angels". The shopping centers are open until at least 22:00 clock. This is a huge difference to the UK, where most of the major roads are closed until 17:30.
Bangkok is definitely a place where you never get bored in the evening and the same goes for many of the outlying provinces and getIslands.
Reason 7: The pace of life
With our increasingly hectic lifestyles we in the West often dream of leaving the rat race and downsizing at a slower pace of life. Thailand is an ideal destination for down-shift.
With the combination of low cost of living and excellent service, life can be good in Thailand, some would say, better than the West, much less a lot of money.
Whether you from switching to the slow lane to think early retirementor just a complete change of scene has to offer Thailand a lot.
In these days the people of the West are disillusioned with the pursuit of material goods, there is a greater sense of urgency to a better quality of life related to - before it's too old to enjoy it.
To quote Henry David Thoreau: "This spending the best part of his life to earn money to enjoy a questionable liberty during the least important part of it reminds me of the Englishman who wentIndia to seek his fortune in the first place, so he returned to England and live the life of a poet. He was sent to (her) in the attic again. "
Whether your passion is the metropolis of Bangkok and the provinces most remote and peaceful island, the relaxed lifestyle and attitude of the Thais are a refreshing change from the hectic pace of life in the West.
Of course, Thailand is not a panacea, but there is no doubt that many Westerners living a peaceful, happy,Low-stress life in the land of smiles.
Reason 8: Culture
There is so much to see in Thailand. There is always something to learn more about the history of Thailand, the Thai people, their religion and faith. There are many beautiful temples and historical sites.
Thai culture is fascinating and there are many cultural opportunities to pursue in Thailand - Thai dance, handicrafts, martial arts, festivals and special costumes are varied and interesting. From Songkhran LoyKratong, Thai silk from Muay Thai, from Ayutthaya to Wat Arun, there is much to explore and learn.
There are a variety of cultural activities, which can be accessed from Bangkok. There are interesting places more remote, and the bridge over the River Kwai and the northern city of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, where the adventurous can hike to see tribes hills.
Reason 9: The structures
Usually, the LeisureFacilities are on the level or better in Thailand and the West. In particular, golf courses, movie theaters, swimming pools, beaches, hotels, restaurants, flats, shops, and are usually very good.
Medical facilities are also clean and efficient. There are a number of well-equipped hospitals in Bangkok but also in peripheral cities such as Pattaya. They are mostly rich and Western meet Thais.
Getting around is fairly simple. There is always a taxisome description on hand for short trips. You can also use a tuk-tuk, songthaew, Sky Train, motorcycle taxi, bus, water or air-conditioned bus. You can even walk - but not in April, when Bangkok was 40C plus recommended! Bangkok also has its own underground these days! In many ways to get to public transport in Thailand is much easier than in the West, where you really need your car to get around comfortably.
Bangkok has received occasional grid-locked, especially duringRush hour, but that's a fact of life in many cities in recent days. Just to avoid a taxi during peak hours and reach instead of a motorcycle taxi.
Reason 10 - The Mall
Bangkok is known for its shops. Major shopping centers such as Central Plaza, also known as MTC and the new Siam Paragon Mahboonkrong known, but there are many other shopping centers in Bangkok and more under construction.
Shops are plentiful outside of Bangkok, with most cities have aVariety of shops and shopping centers. Tesco also have a number of offices in Bangkok now under the "Tesco Lotus". Walk through a cave of Aladdin as MBK or sit in a cafe, only to let the world go by can spend a pleasant way, a few hours.
Summary
Thailand is a special country, is a magical place that is much more than the sum of its parts. It is a heady mixture of all ten terms above and much, much more. If you plan to visitfor a working holiday or retirement Thailand is to always offer something special.
