Thailand Sketchbook (Sketchbooks) Review
Having grown up in Malaysia and Singapore, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit the neighboring countries, Thailand being one of them. The architecture in Thailand is a remarkable blend of old and new, Eastern and Western influences, all of which are beautifully captured by the 150 paintings and sketches in this book. Being a country with a primarily Buddhist influence, the temples are something visitors will see in passing everywhere...in the cities, and in the countryside. These are gorgeously depicted by the watercolors & sketches. Also beautifully depicted, with great attention to detail are the Royal residences, the palaces, the royal barges, and scenes of daily life [the floating markets, city life, Buddhist monks receiving food offerings, elephants and their trainers etc]. The book devotes time to not only Bangkok, but also the North and South of Thailand. A definite feast for the eyes!
Thailand Sketchbook (Sketchbooks) Overview
Culturally and geographically Thailand is a kingdom of great diversity. Impressive monuments and romantic ruins mark the influences of long-gone empires.
